Title: Time for Everything
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-14) There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace , What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race.
He has made everything beautiful in its time.He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.
God created heaven and earth, He provides cycle of life, each time with its work for us to do. Most of the time we face many afflictions that contradicts God’s plan for our lives. We should not allow the worries of this life or obstacles of this life to distract us from using our time for God’s purpose. Life’s obstacles for the children of God should be an opportunity for us to know that without God there is no solution for our problems.
Timing is very essential in a human life. All the timing listed on these verses are very certain in life. It is very important for us humans to appreciate each time in our lives and make proper use of them. Each time we miss in this life you will not go back to it again in life. In as much as some people believe in reincarnation, even if you reincarnated, you will still go through the life cycle, but there is nothing like reincarnation. The Bible says , it is appointed unto man to die once after that the judgement. (Hebrews 9:27).
For us to answer the real children of God and to live a life that pleases God , we have to work and live according to His own timing , or we will miss it. Jesus Christ is our example to follow, we look unto Him for our perfect faith. When He came to the world He was busy using His time appropriately. He never misused His time. He accomplished His purpose, that was why He shouted on the cross it is finished. (John 19:29-30). He uttered this word because the last phase of His work on earth was dying on the cross for me and you.
Apostle Paul was another man who boldly stated in (2Timothy4:7) I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. It is a dangerous thing to live a life without following God’s timing. God wants us to live our lives according to His own schedule. How are you using your time? Are you using all the time you have for your own selfish gratifications? For only your heart desires? What time do you have for God ? Some of us have not been to church since this year, some of us have not been to fellowship, or read our bible, or even prayed. If the trumpet should sound this evening, if you stand before Jesus today.., what have you done for Him?? How are you spending your time ??
Can We say to the Lord that I have finished my race, fought a good fight, I have done what you want me to do on earth? There is time for everything, if you have not started to manage your time according to God’s plan, let us start from today. He is faithful and ready to give us direction so we can start marching to the best direction in life.
Prayers: God please help me to follow your timing so that I will not miss your plan for my life in Jesus name. Help me oh! Lord to trust in your word , help me to follow Holy Spirit prompts in my life in Jesus name.
