Title: God’s Amazing Grace
(First Timothy 1:12-17) I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that He considered me trustworthy, appointing me to His service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in Him and receive eternal life. Now to the king eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.
A lot of times when we remember what we have done, the sin we have committed, we keep living in guilt thinking that Jesus has not forgiven us. Find time to read some bible quotations about how Paul persecuted the Christians, made fun of Christians who were preaching the word of God in those days. Paul was a big blasphemer, violent, and killing the Christians. But Jesus arrested him one day and after he had encounter with Jesus, he was forgiven and was used mightily for God’s Kingdom work.
No matter how bad our sins are, God can still forgive and use us to accomplish His purpose. Paul was thankful and praising God for what Christ did in his life. Christ came for sinners like me and you, He suffered on the cross for me and you . How do we respond to this amazing love which He lavished on the cross for us? His mercy is also extended to us, even in a special way. He who began a good work in us will perfect what He started
How has God been glorified in your life? Have you been disobedient in His word?, have you been shunning the people of God who want to lead you to the Lord? Have you been making jest of the preachers? Have you been scoffing the preachers about the second coming of Christ? Thank God that He is ready to give you a second chance, His mercy is new every morning. (Lamentation 3:22-23). There is no sin that is too big for Him to forgive.
Paul was sincere to tell about his sins and was thankful to God for forgiving him and counting him worthy to be used to the glory of God. Remember to be honest and vulnerable about your own journey in coming to Christ. Paul did not hesitate to share his past, because he knew his weakness would allow others to have hope, people will not believe that the gospel is important if they can’t see that it is crucial in your life. How has Jesus been shown in your life? Don’t be afraid to let others know what Christ has done for you. Our testimonies can help others turn to Christ. Be thankful for the unmerited favor of the gift of salvation and share your testimonies to others. God bless you.
Prayers: God of heaven and earth, thank you Lord for the gift of eternal life you have given me. Please as you used Paul to the glory of your name, use me Lord to bless the people around me in Jesus name. Thank you Lord.
