(Psalm 1: 1-3) Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or sit in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of the mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither-whatever they do prosper.

This is not a time to follow the crowd in our Christian journey. This is not a time to play religion. This is a time to define our goal in life and learn how to pursue it. The Bible says blessed are those who refuse to walk in the step with the wicked. Our world is full of Christians of different denominations, and different backgrounds, but why is it that the world is still full of wickedness today? The reasons are not far fetched. The reasons are because majority of us are following crowds. We refuse to follow the precepts of the lord , we refused to get rooted on the word of God but we keep embracing religion as a culture or rituals.

Today there is no difference between Christians and non Christians. We indulge ourselves on different types of activities not minding what the outcome will be.

The Bible says, blessed is the one whose delight is in the law  of the Lord, not those who practice religion, not those who go to church, but the one whose delight is in the law of the Lord. Blessed is the one who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of the sinners. The law of the Lord is a reference to his word.

The law of the Lord is perfect, and gives eternal life to the soul . It brings peace, and everlasting joy. Today’s Christianity is a carefree one. We mix apples and oranges which ever one that goes. The ungodly have counsel, God will not be happy with us when we follow the counsel of the ungodly. There are those  who have not tested the goodness of the Lord they should be learning from us , not the other way around.

You may be having a long time sickness, or some financial difficulties, or you have Been married for years without any child. Instead of you to kneel down before God and tell him your problems, you will begin to complain, and telling your problems to people who will give you wrong suggestions to go and seek help from native doctors. It may be that you are a graduate who have been looking for job for 4 years or more, instead of you to have patience and seek God’s face, you will join the gang of the kidnappers, armed robbery , prostitution, trying to make a living through dubious means etc. When  you are doing this, you are walking on the counsel of the ungodly. The end of it is death.

(Psalm 119:24)

When hard press we will begin to hide our identities. We will not like people to know we are believers, the ungodly will be proud of what they do , but we will hide our own identities with shame that if we tell them that we are believers they will begin to laugh at us.

Jesus was not ashamed to die for you and me! Why are we ashamed to answer His children? We should be proud to follow Christ. Not to follow the ungodly. Keep friends who can lift you up in the spirit, keep friends who can pray with you and help you grow spiritually. Keep friends who are expecting Christ’s return not those who will help you to backslide.

(Matthew 5:30)

And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

There are many blessings that follow us when we keep the laws of the Lord which is His word. When we do that we reap blessings that we will continue to enjoy from here on earth to eternity. May God help us in Jesus name.

Prayers: Thank you father for your compassion that endures forever. Father please forgive me in anyway I have sinned against you. Please Lord let your mercy guide my footsteps. Help me to walk upright in your presence. Help me not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Please Lord break every curse I have attracted through disobedience of your word in Jesus name. Use me Lord to be a blessing to my generation in Jesus name. God bless you for reading.
