Title: Ask and you shall Find.

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

He said to them, “When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.

Give us each day our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins,

for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.

And lead us not into temptation.

Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you;seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Jesus was teaching His disciples how to pray. He first of all started with praising God, the then He started making His requests. Before we start to pray we have to start with praises and worship. When we do that, the Holy Spirit puts us in the right mind and the right channel with God. Praise God for life, you have to be alive to feel hungry, you have to be alive to think about your need and how to meet them. The center of everything is life. Start with thanksgiving. Give Praises to His wonderful name before you begin to bring your requests to Him.

When you get up in the morning and wants to go to your biological father with any problems, you start by greetings him first right? So our heaven father deserves our adoration before you can bring your needs to Him. When you start with worship and praises, you are preparing your heart and also preparing Him to listen to you. We have a father who is loving and compassionate, He is always ready to answer us when we come with the right mind . Prayer is the only way we talk to our Heavenly Father, the power of prayer cannot be overemphasized.

God is waiting for us every moment to come and talk to Him. He created millions of people on earth, and everyone of us is unique in our own way, He knows us by name, He is not too busy to give you attention. The whole illustrations on this particular chapter emphasizes on the importance of persistency in prayers. When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, He made forgiveness the cornerstone of their relationship with God. God has forgiven our sins, likewise we have to forgive those who have wronged us. We need to forgive others so our Heavenly Father will forgive us. Treat others as you want God to treat you.

Jesus wants us to be persistent in our prayers, if we continue to persist in our prayers , it will turn the heart and mind of God for our favor. Our intense persistent in prayers breaks evil yoke, stumbling blocks of the enemy. As we engage in our daily devotion  with God.Do not count the number of times you  have prayed. Keep talking to God. Even though our earthly fathers have a lot of short comings, they treat their children well, they have the best interests in mind for their children, so our Heavenly Father will treat us even better that our earthly parents. (Matthew 7: 7-12) Prayers changes every difficult situation. Pray pray and pray. No other way to allow God control over that stubborn problem than to pray. The God that answers by fire will answer your prayers in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayers: Oh Lord, help me to learn how to prayer. Fill me with Holy Spirit, rekindle my prayer altar in Jesus name. Forgive me and deliver me from evil. Help me to forgive those who have sinned against me oh Lord. Anything that will hinder my prayers let it be removed by your mercy in Jesus name. Thank you Jesus.
