Title: You must be born again

( John 3:1-21) Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You[c] must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?  Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Nicodemus went to Jesus himself to validate what he had been hearing concerning the Kingdom of God and what qualifies one to inherit the kingdom of God. He wanted to verify himself from Jesus all the rumors he had been hearing. He went to Jesus by night, May be that was the time Jesus could attend to him one on one without much crowd, it was amazing that he did not send anyone to go and verify for him, but he went to hear the truth from Jesus. Like wise, we should come to Jesus for verification about anything we have doubts for concerning His kingdoms and His second coming. We should open our Bible and draw closer to God in prayers and He will teach us all the things we need to know about His kingdom. Other people cannot do that for us. (Jeremiah 33:3) Call to me and I will answer you and tell you all the great and unsearchable things you do not know.

Nicodemus, was searching for the truth, instead of following the crowd, he decided to find the trough himself from Jesus. Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a member of the ruling council, but he humbled himself and came to Jesus to be taught. No matter your level of education in life, you have to come to Jesus with humility so that He can teach you what you don’t know. We all need the first class information about the word of God, so that we will not be misled.

Jesus made Nicodemus to understand that His kingdom would be ruled by God, it would be restored on earth, and it would incorporate God’s people. His kingdom would come to the whole world not just the Jews. Nicodemus wouldn’t be part of this kingdom unless he became born again. Jesus kingdom in personal, not national or ethnic. The qualifications and requirements are repentance and spiritual rebirth. Jesus later taught them that God’s kingdom has already started in the heart of believers.(Luke 17:21) . We will understand it better when Jesus returns again to judge the world and destroy evil forever.

Have you been born again? If you are not sure of the answer to this question, most likely you are not yet born again. The Bible says you must e born again. There is no two ways about it. Give your life to Jesus today , He is ready to take you the way you are. One of the teachers of the law approached Jesus to find the fact about the Kingdom, to be sure. Are you ready to find out the truth about the kingdom? Why not make haste now and avoid regret tomorrow?. (2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Prayers: Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner in need of your salvation. God please help me to surrender my life to you. I repent of my sins and ask you to cleanse me . Come into my life and help me to follow you till the end in Jesus name.
