Title: Let us be thankful to God
Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled. You who answer prayer,
to you all people will come. When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave our transgressions.
Blessed are those you choose
and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple. You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength,
who stilled the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
and the turmoil of the nations.
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades,
you call forth songs of joy. You care for the land and water it;
you enrich it abundantly.
The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain,for so you have ordained it.
You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers and bless its crops. You crown the year with your bounty,
and your carts overflow with abundance. The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;
the hills are clothed with gladness.
The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing.
In the olden days, vows were taken seriously and fulfilled without looking back. It was not a common thing to make vows in those days, but once it was made, it must be fulfilled. Vows are the promises you make to God for answering prayers , or any wonderful thing God did for you. Often times we are quick to make vows in times of critical needs. But when God do that or answer our prayers we forget about the vows. God is not happy when we do that. He is not a man that we should make vows before Him and when the time of the fulfillment comes we tend to forget or we don’t take it seriously. ( Deuteronomy 23:21-23) 21 If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the Lord your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin. 22 But if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty. 23 Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the Lord your God with your own mouth.
Although when you make a vow and fails to fulfill it , God will forgive you if you ask Him to. Just ask Him to forgive you from a sincere heart He will forgive, in fact, that was the reason Jesus came to the world , He came to forgive us our sins through His blood. There is no sin He cannot forgive if we call on Him for mercy. Do not try to hide your sins from Him. He came for me and you just to make us worthy to always come to the holy presence of our merciful father.
Today all of us have access to come to God , in the Olden days only the priests were made worthy to go to His holy presence. It was only special priests who could enter the tabernacle, they were the only ones who could get into that sacred room where God’s presence resided. Jesus’ death on the Calvary has removed the barrier between us and God. (Mathew 27:50-51) . Today , all the believers have access to God’s presence everywhere at any time.
We should remain thankful for all the provisions God has made for us. We admire His creation, He is a great provider. (John 10:10) the devil came to steal and destroy but Jesus name to give us abundant live. Why are you not giving God thanks for all He has done for you? Count your blessings and name them one by one and you will see the great things He has done. Fulfill your vows today, draw near to Him. Make Him the God of your salvation. It will be well with us in Jesus Holy name.
Prayers: Thank you Jesus for what you have done for me on the cross of Calvary. Help me Lord to remain thankful to you in Jesus name. Thank you for coming to give me abundant life in Jesus name.
