Title: A desire for God’s Presence.

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.

Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your right hand upholds me. Those who want to kill me will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth. They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals. But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

No matter where we come from, our age, gender, background or origin, we desire for God’s protection and provision. Our desire should be for us to get closer to God because He is the source of life , health and only in Him we can derive satisfaction. He is the beginning and the end. David found himself lonely in the wilderness of Judah and he couldn’t find solace from any of his friends or families. He needed comfort and encouragement, he couldn’t find it anywhere. No wonder he said You, God, are my God. (Psalm 121:1-4).I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip , He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Isreal will neither slumber nor sleep.

David told God that he was thirsty for God . He said that his whole being longed for God in a dry and parched land where there was no water. David sought for the presence of God in that dry land where He found himself. Remember to seek and thirst for God anytime you find yourself in a dry land . May be you can pray David’s prayer in time of drought. The only place we can find satisfaction is in the Lord. In Him we move and have our being.

Without Him we are like fish out of water.

During the time David was having sleepless night, he trusted in the Lord for rescue, to quiet his storm. He remembered how God had saved him in the past. He continued to acknowledge the goodness of God upon his life. When you are facing different challenges of this life, remember how the Lord has saved you before. He is the same God of yesterday today and forever. He will not change today. Continue to seek Him and allow Him to have His way in your life. David was a man who trusted in God no matter the condition he saw himself. He never sought for help outside his God. Beloved, seek for the presence of God in all you do and you will never go wrong. Amen.

Prayers. Father,  please give me a heart that desires to know you. Feel me oh Lord with power of your anointing in Jesus mighty name. Please Lord, as I desire to be in your presence, please touch me in a supernatural way in Jesus name. Thank you Jesus.
